I'm on one of those last minute searches for a gasket..I'd like to go to Nissan dealer tomorrow (Sat). All the parts stores I've called are out of it or will take a week to order it in.

I need the 1970-78 Z thermostat housing gasket. The number is illegible on Carfiche.com and I can't find it on the Courtesy Nissan site.

If some informed soul can locate the Nissan part# before tomorrow morning I'll owe you a stiff drink.

Think I found it: 11072-83001. It crosses over to four cars on the Courtesy Parts site including the 300ZX. Worth a try at the dealer. The "A" number above is for a package of 10.

I'm giving myself the drink as a reward.

Yeah, but you can't put a part number on your engine ~ you still need the gasket.

Get ahold of ZMAN-1 right away, and zee if he's working tmrw. He can search it out for you and zee who has it, if his dealership doesn't.

It's good to have friends in the partz dept. 8)

Bryan, according to my Z parts microfiche, the correct part number is:

11072-S3001

Number was superceded 3 times, this is the most updated.

you know that you can buy sheets of gasket material at NAPA or autozone and cut your own, right?

Thanks John, that part# comes up as "The Gasket" in the Courtesy Nissan site. Guess it must be pretty universal. Time to head to the dealer.

I do have a roll of the gasket material if needed, but I kinda like using the factory gasket.
