Sorry for the wait and the giant pictures! This is my 1972 240z. Full credit goes to my Wife for finding it 2 miles from out house while she was on a run on Saturday, and on Sunday it was in our driveway.

Its belonged to a local man who had a very large eclectic car collection, sadly he passed away last august and his brother was in charge of dealing with his estate. Luckily for me his brother did not list anything online and it was in in the very back of a side yard where not many people saw it.

The rust! its a Datsun so it does have some. a little on the lower pass side fender, starting on the doglegs and a little at the toe of the driver side floor pan. what I was most concerned about the the firewall and battery tray which is perfect. the car at some point has been z-barted so while yes unfortunately they drilled small holes all over the place it did save most of the car from being a rust bucket.

It was originally 112 Yellow Lime and one day I would like to bring it back to that color but for now I would like to just get it back on the road. In the week since it has been in my garage I have got it to start and idle! the last rego sticker on the window is from the 80s!

Once its a little less snowy I will roll it out and get some better pictures of the outside and add some of the interior as well. I suppose at that point I will make a new post in the members rides or project section.

I'm still a bit in disbelief and every time i walk into the garage I cant help but to make a loud whooping noise!

That is a lucky find!

I’ve always got my eyes peeled anytime I’m driving or riding my bike through a neighborhood- peering in garages and what not! I have not been that lucky yet.

Looks like you scored big!
Enjoy working on it and most of all "Enjoy the Ride" as our late Mr. K would say.

Congrats!

Duuude! You've found a set of the original American Racer 5-slot wheels! Many of those were actual magnesium in the very early '70s.

If they are, you could sell them to get your money back from the car purchase. Very rare now, and highly priZed. Balanced by sticky weights on the inside of the rim.
