Thanks! I saw this about an hour after it was listed. I messaged him and he has not responded yet. I talked to Harrold about it who actually got in touch with the seller, he says it may have some questionable rust repairs done to it and he should be getting more Info about it on friday.

If it's a real 260, it's a 1974.

I would like to have a quiet word with whomever installed those rear brake air scoops on that perfect body.

Can't figure why he would wrap the fuel lines with so much "asbestos" when he has round top carbs. Only the previous year's flat tops had vapor lock problems.

Early 4 speed. Light bumpers. Real round tops. Roof vent. Rear spoiler.
Either a real "first generation early 260" with corrected induction system, or a rebuilt 1973 240 with a 260 engine and old carbs.

Probably a car dealer, who will wring a whole lot more than the asking price from it.

Would like to see some undercarriage photos.

Frank

I have to agree with you Frank those side scoops are very odd on an otherwise stock body. It is definitely a clean car but for what it is I think its priced a bit too high

Totally missed those… somehow?!?

They kinda kill the car for me… also as Frank points out there is a bit of unknowns and discrepancies in the listing

Doesn't it seem like alot of work to add those odd vents? You can't get anything by Frank! A small dealer is a good guess who might not know the ins and outs of the different years.

 You can even find those tools cheaper than Harbor Freight!

All kidding aside though, I wish you luck in your journey to find your next Z.

Thanks! I would love if i was able to find one from a member. It would feel more special and much less stressful than a facebook or craigslist find. I know the group isnt huge and everyone loves their Z so I may be waiting for a while.

Well, keep a good thought. There are more than 800 of us, world-wide, and many of us are in the original owner demographic, meaning we are in our 70s-80s. At some point it becomes really hard to get into/out of these beauties, and owners start looking for responsible newbies to pass their babies on to.
Your generation is the future of the Datsun Z car.
And Roadster.
And nickel-dime car.

Frank

That's so true about ageing Frank. Has it gotten hard for you yet? When you get closer to your 80's Frank, hard may not be an option any more. :D OoRah!

"The hard we do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer".

Before I got both hips replaced it was a chore to get into and out of the Z. Significant events could take place btwn the time I started and finished. At my worst point, the fastest way to get out would have been to throw myself out onto the road, crawl to the nearest tree and pull myself up.

Life is much better now, thank you.
