The A/C control is hanging under the dash, slightly left of the hazard switch. Not the usual ARA knob on the side of the console.

Somebody should give Tommy Phillips a call again. He's at (203)736-227seven. Tom owns Tom's Toybox in Seymour, which is a huge warehouse with many old cars in it, all for sale. I went there several years ago to look at his 240Zs and found a very early 1970 (all dismantled) and several other 'used' 240s. There were also a perfectly restored XK-150 Fixed Head coupe, an Olds 442 ragtop automatic and an original 63GTO convertible in there. Some Alfas, some Sunbeams, and a few old hot rod pickup trucks rounded out his inventory at that time. My camera battery died while I was there so I only got a few very dark photos.

It's somebody else's turn to call Tom. He's blocked his phone so my unlisted number can't get thru. Tell him you're from the Z Club and want to know what cars he has for sale currently?

Per a comment by Carl Beck on ClasssicZCars.com, this car is sold. Thor - was your friend successful on this deal?

Hey Thor,
I hope all of you are getting though the flooding and other weather issues OK. Another nice looking Series 1 car just showed up, this one near Buffalo NY. Only a few pics but it might be worth pursuing by your friend.

Yes we are sinking in the floods, people in the eastern parts of this country have lost everything, it's terrible. The worst flood disaster for hundreds of years.

We've seen that eBay offer, nice car but unfortunately a few featureless pics. We are going to ask the owner for replenishment.

Thanks Jim, please keep your eyes open.

Thor -
This one looks like it should definitely be checked out! The color combo is very nice, not easy to find. Note the comment that the odo "shows" 44k miles, it might easily be 144k miles.

It was really sweet - metallic green with butterscotch interior, all was fresh. Many updates. The asking price was $9,600.

OK Thor,
Yet another candidate has popped up, this one in New Hampshire. And... from my perspective it is the right color (right John T.???). Someone on this board may even be familiar with the car.

Sensational restored mid-to-late 1971 car, with air conditioning.

Would love to own that one.

:? Strange. Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like these were posted on the 11th and 25th of June, then updated today at noon? The location seems to be the only change ~ name and phone remain the same. Could this be a scam? Some of our members have found pictures of their own cars listed for sale on CL over the years (they weren't selling them!).

Can you tell what that weird lever is, sticking out from the center air vent? (maybe an optical illusion?)

Also ~ wonder where he managed to find two leather covered cup holders?

This is not uncommon at all. People often post in multiple towns. It heightens the chances that they sell their object. He/she probably figured that at first he would only place it for sale in his town, saw it wasn't generating enough phone calls, and extended its advertising range.

Or he travels frequently between the two places, therefore could sell the car at either location.

FWIW,
