Our Club member Rick Morgan no longer has access to a computer so he asked me to advertiZe two roasters he wants to sell. NO,NO,NO...I mean ROADSTERS.

One is a 1968 2000cc and the other is a 1969 1600cc. Body styles in those years were virtually identical so parts are interchangeable. Best offers in the neighborhood of $5,000 for the pair, $3400 for the 2000 or $600 for the 1600. Negotiable; beer might influence price.

It's been a few years since either of them has run, and they have been stored outside under tarps. There's no extra charge for any mice who might have taken refuge in them, but both cars come with the lifetime guaranteed Two-Brick mouse extermination method.

I have seen the cars recently and would rate them as far better than parts cars, but needing a couple weeks' work to get them on the road. I would call them short-term project cars, maybe (3) or (3-). Sold as a pair, the two of them might be used to make one of them roadworthy in a hurry while the other was being detailed. Cute little things! Bodies and glass are intact and complete and interiors are quite salvageable. All the lenses and lamps are present, bumpers are not bad, etc. The 1600 has some dents from a tree branch which fell lengthwise on it a few years ago, so some amateur bodywork would be beneficial, and they both need tires before you exceed 40mph. I haven't examined the exhaust but I would count on replacing those, anyway. Both cars rolled freely last time I pushed them by hand.

If you're interested in seeing these Japanese MGBs and making an offer, PM me and I'll put you in touch with Rick. I'll see if I can find a picture of one of the cars to post here.

Frank

OK, here's the 1968 1600cc battle-damaged car. They are both in similar condition.

Price has been lowered to $4,000 for the pair. I will soon advertise these neat little Roadsters on several Roadster club websites.

And a Fun Fact ~ some of the early Roadsters used American Standard fasteners throughout the cars. Don't ask me why, or which ones, but that's what I heard from an expert.

That actually looks like a decent project based on the picture. Those are great looking little cars, more desirable than an MG.

I'd bet Vinny could build a fun engine out of that 2,000cc too.

Don't tempt me Frank!

I've really been holding out for a nice 2 door 510... But a roadster with a hardtop would be pretty rad.

Not in our Club but for total restoration, maybe making one out of two.

Nope. Not a member; doesn't have posting privileges here. I'm afraid the cars will not be seen again.
