This is actually a May 1970 car with 22,000 miles, titled as a 1971, offered for $1 million bucks.

I figure one of the Gentiles probably already have a bid on this:

I might drive to Massachusetts just to look at this car.

Wow!

Absolutely gorgeous pristine example of the first gen Z. All of those pictures should come in handy to those looking for reference examples of how the original car was built and equipped. I was never a "green car" guy but this one works for me.

I'm sure we are all wondering what this beauty will finally sell for. When are we heading to Seekonk Frank?

Thanks for posting this.

$1mil...no problemo. I'll just call in a couple of...favors.

This car has been making the rounds. My gut says this ebay post is a bit of hype. There was talk of the car going on the block on BaT in a week or so - so perhaps a bit of pre-auction hoopla. An incredible original car for sure, and I would guess it may clock in around $100K.

The Fairlady Z-432R that just sold for $800K in Japan - now THAT's a car that's worth a million bucks. Not counting Frank T's car of course...

He's got the wrong battery and the wrong wheel covers on it, but those are easily corrected. We can't see the inspection lid doors' hold-down clamps either; if they are anything other than the replaceable plastic clips, the lids have been replaced.

I once researched (asked around) about the length of time Datsun used those original clips (they broke all the time) and it seems Datsun began using the steel clamps about mid-summer 1970. This car is a month younger than mine and still should have the replaceable plastic clips.

The car is not listed in Carl Beck's Z Registry.

I called the seller in Massachusetts but the principal is out west for a car auction until next week. The representative who answered my questions said they just stuck that price on there to start the ebay conversation. They aren't expecting an actual million bucks.

I am for my car, though. 8)

John, they're only 1/2 mile from Seekonk Speedway. Should we take the cars?

It's about 120 I-95 highway miles from Shelton. Should take us about 45 minutes. 8)

Looks like they tack this ridiculous price on all of their cars on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-AMC-Pacer ... Sw6WJdsdPg

..not that YOUR car isn't worth a million dollars, Frank

Jim Kinsella and I drove out to MS Classic Cars in Seekonk MA today to meet with a prospective buyer and to look at the car in person. I thought that Jim's input on this Z car's paint should be helpful to the buyer and I believe it was. We all believe the paint is original and that the car is every bit as good as shown in the many pictures MS Classic Cars (the seller) has provided. Marc Shiliro, the owner of MSCC, was very open with us, showed us some of the "original features" on the car that he has so proudly described in his offering and answered any questions that we had.

I'm sure as I'm wiring this, the bids will continue to climb. Someone will soon own a spectacular original Series 1 Z car that should probably not be driven to preserve it's original state according to many.

I'll include just one picture I took during our visit as the BAT link provided by Colin Gentle has all the pictures you would want to see.

Great Car!

This is great for you to volunteer to help estimate this car, John. Thanks to you and Jim for driving up there to scope it out. I hope your input serves as a platform for someone making an informed decision on this car.

I wish I could have gone with you but I'm still not over the flu yet.

Frank
