I generally keep my cars for ten years so it is time for the red 350Z to find a new home. This car has been an absolute blast to drive and to own. This is one of only three special edition Bob Sharp GT 33 cars assembled by Bob and Nissan Darien in 2008.

The car has only 73k miles and has been babied throughout it's lifetime - always garage stored. It has also been used as a daily driver in nice weather so it has its share of minor road rash.

It is the Grand Touring edition so it has a lot of goodies as listed at the bottom of this post.

The "GT 33" package also included a larger rear spoiler, NISMO cat-back exhaust and dual NISMO cold air intakes.

The car has also had its computer chip optimized by RDZ a few years ago, bringing horsepower to about 350 (what a coincidence!)

I am looking for $12,500 for the car given it's low mileage, extra GT 33 options and excellent condition. Send me an e-mail at rosswilliamsz@gmail.com if interested.

Hi Ross - This is a very beautiful car, and I will be keeping my eye on this thread closely.

I was wondering 2 things: I see that there is no front lower lip on the car. In the picture of the car on the showroom floor in your photo album), it is ON. Is this something you had removed? Didn't like it? Do you still have that part?

Also, do you have any photos of the interior... or at least, can you speak of it's condition?

Thanks!

All the best--

They are reported as "lost" to DMV and forever hang in my garage!

Hi Myron,

Thanks for your questions. You picked up something I should have disclosed about that picture. We originally had a front splitter installed on the three GT33's. While it looked great, the splitter hung so low that it was routinely getting scraped entering uneven driveway surfaces. It eventually got some cracks in it and I then pulled it off and discarded it.

The interior is in very good condition with only very minor wear and tear. The passenger area and rear hatch are probably a nine out of ten. There is some wear to the passenger seat (no rips) and some wear on the gearshift knob. Whatever coating they used on the metal portion of the steering wheel has started to peel and I've often though of just taking it all off, since the portion that has peeled looks better than the portion with the coating still preserved. The plastic section of the armrests were covered with some rubberized coating which got very scratched up over time. So I purchased and installed new carbon-fiber covers from MSA and they now look great.

I will try to post some interior pics toward the end of the week since I'm away right now.

I think whoever buys this car is going to be extremely pleased with it!

Thanks for the detailed response, Ross - it is much appreciated

Given your stellar reputation within the club, I am confident that the new owner will be more than satisfied with this gorgeous car. Personally, it brings together the best of both worlds... a well-equipped modern Z, with a few retro-touches thrown in for extra - yet tasteful - flair (I love the stripes!).

I look forward to seeing those interior shots :)

Here are some interior photos. As I mentioned, I covered the door rests with a carbon fiber kit from Motorsport Auto. Overall, I would say the interior is an 8 out of 10, with some minor wear in certain places like the gearshift (see photo). There are no rips, cracks or tears anywhere in the interior.

Hi Frank,

Well in ten years of rather tame enjoyment I can admit I've never tested any of these performance metrics but according to the Edmunds review of the 2008 350Z Enthusiast (base) model:

5.3 seconds
13.7 seconds
60mph to zero: 112 feet

Note: Compared to the Enthusiast package, my car has the factory Brembo brake upgrade that came with the Grand Touring edition as well at the Nismo Dual Cold Air Intakes and Nismo Cat-back Exhaust that were part of the GT-33 package. Offsetting these benefits, I suspect that my car might be heavier than the Enthusiast package.

Included in the price, is the original stock exhaust that was removed after only about 100 miles of driving.

See below for the entire article:

Yes. I haven't been very active in selling it but I plan to put it on a few more sites soon. Happy to speak with Walt about it. I just put $600 into for various repairs. Whoever buys this car should be very happy.

I am both very pleased and very sad to say that this car is now sold! The good news is that it went to a fellow CTZCC member, Walter Ellison. So it will go to a good home, be appreciated and possibly even visit my lawn during future Fall Outings (that would be strange).

Walt's a great guy and I know he will take good care of my baby.

Thus ends a ten year love of this car that was purchased when Nissan Darien actually existed. It was an experiment in terms of re-creating Bob's GT-33 program of providing customized cars to honor his racing heritage. it has been an absolute blast to use this car as a daily driver. It was my first, and probably my last, red car.

I will miss it greatly!

Ross

As a former owner of 2 RED cars I can relate . . . . . Perhaps now you can speed around without being the first car the cops see . . . :P :P
