Thanks Derek. Good to know that there is another resource. My restoration if far from complete and some work I'm doing myself, but there are other areas that I will leave for those with more experience. I have new floors so now any remaining rust is cosmetic for the most part (except for some bad rocker panels).

My latest bugaboo is a tach that won't work. Fran had suggested replacing the inline ballast resistor, but doing some research it seems that the 280's do not have one (not needed since the there are no points to fry). Still noodling this problem, but if you have any thoughts I would love to hear them.

Paco

Frank, I love hanging doors. As long as nothings bent and the car hasn't flexed I'd love to give you a hand. And Paco, thanks! I just sold a tach last week to a buddy of mine. I was unaware that the 240 tachs were different than 280's so he ran into the same problem. My only advice there is just to find a new tach. I'm old school and I like to fix broken things, but if the entire harness and ignition system is different, I can't really see any simple solution. I'm working on finding my buddy the correct tach to remedy his problem. If anyone knows another solution to fix it, I'd love to know. Thanks everyone!

Thanks Frank! I'll give that a try.

Paco, is that the little white block hooked up to the coil? If so, then yes I believe I have a few.

Hi Derek,
do you happen to have a Z jack?
I lost the one from my 1st Z ........ actually it was stolen.
Anyway, last week I blew a tire on my XJR getting on the Charter Oak Bridge.
To my surprise, the jack supplied by Jag would be an embarrassment to a
Yugo owner. It's a sissor jack, but moves about 1/16" / turn from a little teeny
crank handle....... ugh!

Any I'm looking for an early Z jack ..... it would be purrfect for the Jag.
I'm not taking the one from my roadster.
