Wow. I zee the auction ended with no bids. His reserve was $35,000 which nobody wanted to pay?
This is probably the very best 1970 240Z you could reasonably expect to find, anywhere. Even the great Jimbo Frederick would have to try hard to duplicate the standard these Heritage cars were built to.
But nobody thinks it's worth $35,000?
I recall just ~10 years ago when very good 240Zs were selling in the high-$20K range, and they weren't even 1970 cars. Market has changed.

There was a very spirited discussion about this car over on ClassicZCars.com, see the link below. Very strong speculation that the car DID sell for $40k. The $35k mentioned above was actually the seller's base opening bid with a higher reserve that was never mentioned. The thread also contains some good information about the Vintage Z program. High prices like this bode well for all of us holding on to an older Z.
