A heads-up from our Chicago member Tengu, about Britain's Dr. James Hull's intention of selling his entire car collection........for $170,243,000.00 (right ~ One hundred Seventy Million, Two hundred forty three thousand U.S. Dollars....or One Million Pounds).

There are over 450 cars involved, including motorcycle champion Mike ("The Bike") Hailwood's personal E-Type Jaguar, several other racing Jaguars, a mouth-watering Bentley R-Type Continental, and cars with proven provenance, having been owned by big-name-Brits in eras gone by. So you might end up sitting on a Connolly Hide-covered seat which Mike Hailwood, Sir Winston or Elton John have polished with the seats of their own trousers.

Or not.

If you do the quick math you'll see that each car averages out to $378,317.78......... now, I don't mind paying that for a C-Type Jaguar racer (which is worth about 3x that price), but I see a lot of Morris Minors and Mini Coopers in that stack, which can't be worth even 1/10th of that average. And some of the cars are kiddy pedal-pushers. Does it all balance out?

I say we designate some member to pop 'round and inventory the cars, and report back to us whether (s)he thinks we should begin taking up a collection.
