Hi Y'all,

My car is now listed for sale on eBay at No Reserve.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151317117203?forcerRptr=true&item=151317117203&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123

The bottom line for me is that I don't have time to drive the car. This is a great opportunity for someone to enjoy this car. I drove it today and its great.

I know this sucks, but I view it as an opportunity to do a Series 1 car at some point. I learned a lot from this project and appreciate all the help everyone provided over the years.

Thanks,
Marc

Awww, I hate to zee you let this go. Vinny poured nearly a year of work into this car. I've been in and under this car and found ZERO rust, anywhere.

This is an OUTSTANDING opportunity for someone to land a SAFE, RELIABLE, MECHANICALLY REBUILT early model 240Z. Cosmetics can be done slowly over time. The hard parts are already done here.

I have to salute Marc for the way he approached this rebuild. He restored it from the ground, up. Addressing anyone who ever wanted a really good early 240 which he could trust to be roadworthy and build the interior and paint the way he wanted it, HERE'S YOUR CAR.

Frank T

Wow that's an aweZome (that was for you Frank) car!
For someone who wants to avoid all the PITA stuff it's perfect.

I wish he had included a picture of the engine; it was beautiful last time I saw it.

I've worked on and driven this car personally and if I had room for another Z, I would be interested in it myself.

The engine bay is painted the wildest, deepest, magical blue you'll ever see. It was Marc's intention to eventually paint the whole car that color, something which the next owner should seriously consider. It would win Peoples Choice in any show it got entered into. Can't describe the paint ~ it's sort of 'iridescent' deep purple/blue.

The blue color is Toyota Spectra Mica Blue (8M6).

Oh, I just found your pictures including your engine. This car will sell quickly. It's everybody's dream to buy an early 240 which they can safely drive RIGHT NOW and worry about how to paint it later.

Hey, didn't I take some of those pictures at Vinny's shop? :D

I'll be keeping my eye on this…are you considering offers, or is ebay your only acceptable means?

If there's any way to keep this car in the Club, it should be done.

Even Vinny was surpriZed at the solid, zero-rust body. He was skeptical at first and snorted, "Yeah, a no-rust Z? Surrre". But as he worked on it he couldn't find any, anywhere. The car has been stripped down bare - ALL parts removed from the cowl, forward - and cleaned. No rust was found, anywhere. AmaZing.

So here's a 240Z with a totally solid body, huge new aluminum racing radiator and all the driveline, suspension, brake and steering systems, clutch, brakelines, fuel lines, exhaust, wheels and tires all newly rebuilt. I think Vinny redid the fuel tank too, didn't he? He never does new fuel lines without flushing, etching and sealing a tank. The clock says 170,000 miles, but I'll bet it has fewer than 1,000 miles on a total rebuild. The engine has a high-compression E31 head with good headers, and the 5-speed gearbox has the short-shift kit which Vinny invented back in the day.

Whomever buys this car could drive it cross-country right out of the box if they wanted to, and dress it up slowly over time. And whomever buys this car should DRIVE IT, instead of staying home making more babies! If they were OK with the interior and the paint, they could simply buy and drive the car for the next 10 years without doing anything more to it.

Someday Marc, you're gonna regret letting this go. I hope it stays in the Club so you can buy it back when you come to your senses. About the time you get your first grey hair, you'll want it back. I just hope that doesn't coincide with your eldest kid's first year in college.

I'm forwarding this tread to John Taddonio in Rochester. This car will be gone in a week.

Frank

The car has 300-400 miles max on it since the rebuild. I don't have time to drive it.

Frank you are too much. But I agree with you.... no more babies lol.

Seriously Marc, you should bring this car to the upcoming Bob Sharp Day at Lime Rock and challenge people to find anything wrong with it. I hope someone in this Club gets it instead of letting it go to a non-Z person on eBay. :?

Better yet, you could meet us at Rochester MotorFest and let them zee it, too! Be prepared to take the bus back to NYC tho, because somebody there will probably buy it.

Let them drive it around. Let them put it up on a lift.
Challenge them to find anything mechanically wrong with it. This is a Bedini car ~ there's nothing left to do to the mechnicals.
And if there's any rust, I'd like to know about it too, because it happened since the last time I saw your Z.

Seriously, all you guys who have ever pleaded with us to find a good rust-free 240Z with no mechanical issues ("...and I don't care how it looks, as long as it's safe and solid and I can drive it right away"), THIS is the car you've been waiting for.
