I need a 5 speed with the ~0.864 overdrive (that number is a close guess.) Need it to replace with super tall ZX 5th gear.

Ill buy a good complete tranny but a bad tranny or just the 5th gearing would be more than adequate.

Decided to take sage advice from other Z racers and use a Z tranny rather than the roadster tranny. Putting this gear in an 82-83 ZX trans makes the ratios almost identical to the roadster...

If you don't get one from our Club sources, you can try CHICK's junkyard in Wallingford. He has several Z cars left in there. Prices will be cheaper thru your Z buddies, tho.

What the... how come I didn't know of this?!

Well, now I know where I'm going the next time I go to Wallyworld.

Chris ~ next time you plan to go, let us know. There are several of us who want to paw around in there and it's more fun to go together. I don't need any partz right now but I never say NO to a day in the junkyard. There are hundreds of old American cars in there, too ~ dating back into the 1910s and 1920s. We did a pretty good photo writeup on one of our trips there last year and you can still view it and get an idea of what the place is like.

Under this Forum (cars & parts), look for our Post entitled "JUNKYARD PARTS CARS" and dated April of 2008.
