I am always fascinated when I come across very low mileage Z's (under 5,000 mi). To me, these cars are time machines - I also like to understand the stories behind them. What possesses a person to buy a brand-new sports car and subsequently lock it away for 20 or 30 years?

Listed below are two very low mileage cars currently on e-bay. The '84 300ZX has 3,400 miles and the '80 Annivesary Edition has only 1,900 miles!

Check 'em out below:

It's easy, Ross.

1,000 years from now, man will conquer Time Travel. Entrepreneurs from 3009 will certainly know what items from the past Centuries were most valuable. The Z cars of the 70s and 80s will certainly be among those.

It would be an easy thing for Time Travelers to zap back to 1980, buy a new Z and hide it in storage, intending to recover it "new" in 3009, when they are teenagers in their own life. It's a guaranteed Chick Magnet, even in 3009. This car was discovered and exposed 1,000 years before it's owner was born, foiling his plan.

Time Travelers are not uncommon, and have already left their mark on the Z car legacy ~ I'll bet you always thought "TT" stood for Twin Turbo, didn't you?

Keith

Wow, nice, Ok, let's have a vote on which one you would take if you win the lottery. I'll take the Gold edition. The 300z should be an 85, and I didn't think they even had 16" tires back then. Plus, a dealer should give a 30,000 mile warranty at least.

This is probably the very reason they specify 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Well, that's about how far the first GT-R lasted!
The salesman wrecked it climbing a hiway on-ramp during lunch the first day they got it.

I'm equally amazed at how many of the gold/black anniversary edition 280zx's come up for sale. There seems to always be at least one listed on Ebay. Especially considering only 5,000 10th anniversary models were made in the first place. They must have all been squirreled. Poor Z's.

The 84 is nice. I always was partial to black Z interiors. Barely a mention that it's a turbo in the ad either. Hope Mr. Wasney doesn't see this one!!

Last year I just missed a Red /Black anniversary for sale, was dirt cheap, like $2,000, with a blown engine, plus a running turbo car. So someone around hear has that.
