Iron, congradulations, but you should keep that 280, because you have some catching up to do. :P Well having a 240 with wings, I call em, (240 side emblems,) is just cool in the Z mans brain. I have 4 now, had 5 last week, all parted up for some fun things, and I just got dibs on a 240 myself. Can't resist. Says it's a 74? :? but solid. (little bumbers is a good thing.) Well yours looked good on C.R., hope to see it at a show. Good luck, and enjoy that ride.

Iron ~ do you already have a buyer for the 280, or is it available? (We have a member near you who just lost use of his Z and needs another).

Frank I hate to say it but it's structure is just to far gone.I was patching it to get a summer out of it so I wouldn't try to rush my 260 on the road. I will be hanging onto any good part that I can think of. The PO used silicone as a sealer which promoted heavey rust/rot that wasn't visible.

Joe, your original 240 is not beatable! But this '71 car has been used daily and repaired when necessary. It just got left idle for abt 10 year so it runs a little rough, and the PO (Rest his soul) replaced some interior parts with JC Whitney items as they wore out. The body is very very sound and the whole car gives the appearance that you could jump in and begin using it as a daily driver RIGHT NOW. It just looks like a usable car.

Your car is SO original and SO 'right', I'd be tempted to preserve it rather than risk it in traffic.

Face it, Joe ~ you got a virgin!

Sorry to hear that, but take heart ~ we are intentionally moving the monthly meetings around the state this year, especially to cater to those members who are too far away to make the Darien meetings on weeknights.

One of these occasions should bring us to a neighborhood near you. Looking forward to seeing you then.

(And by the way, I retired from two careers which required me to start my days at 0430. I know JUST what you're going thru. Get some sleep!)
