The Nissan Y44 V8 is a 4414cc 16 Valve OHV pushrod engine; It's rated at 197bhp with a single 4bbl or 200hp with fuel injection (Y44E) and was standard in Nissan's Australian PRESIDENT sedans and limos. Japanese and Okinawan cops used them as highway patrol cars for awhile.
The 4.4L (266 cid) engine bears a suspicious resemblance to the old Ford 260 V8, complete with forward distributor and "backwards" oil pan (altho it has a "Chevy" firing order).

But I don't get this ~ this car is left hand drive, with MPH speedo, all-english dash and A/T symbols, equipped with an engine which was only made for Japan and Australia, either of which should have had RHD controls.

Maybe Obsidian Pete or ZARDOZ could shed some light on this, but I sure can't.

And MY car is worth $249,000 (to me!)

(He actually probably put the comma in the wrong place, and meant to ask $24,900 for this unusual car).

yep you got it right frank...
The v8 was available in the nIssan limo's.
Nissan Presidents.(u know ya stuff Frank)
have never seen one though...
aparently the cops in Japan were getting these V8's and putting them in Z for pursuit cars... apparently the engine mounts r the same or the gearboxes bolt on.. one or the other,,,,,
rare as.... if its cheap buy it... if its not cheap who cares... use the six.. they fly.. if you need a V8 in ya Z just use a proven ford or similar V8
