Post subject:  #1651 for sale

Well, after many hours of thought, i'm selling my prized possession. I started rebuilding, and restoring Chevy trucks, 15 years ago, and after adding 4 chevy trucks to the family, i'm selling my collection.
Many of you already know the story of how a 1/70 240z, HLS30-1651 came back to life. I'm now nearing the end of a 2 1/2 year restoration, on the z.
I started by pulling the engine, and disassembling it. What i found was amazing, to my delight, was a pristine L-28 block, new pistons, rods, bearings, and oil pump. I put the engine back together, along with its N-42 head. The engine has the org. rebuilt 70 SU's.
I've upgraded the electrical system with, a 50 amp alternator, a new plug and play headlight harness, from MSA, combination switch rebuild, blower motor rebuild, as well as a rebuild on the wiper motor.
The interior has been completely gone thru, with the org. vinyl being renewed, center console reconditioned, restored steering wheel, org. factory hitachi radio, pwr. antenna. new inner and outer shift boots.
The exterior has been repainted a royal blue enamel, 6 top coats have been applied. The original body side moldings will go back on last, right after i cut and buff, the new paint. It took me 2 weeks to wet sand the car. New BF Goodrich tires, mounted in 14" vaned alum. wheels complete the outside
I have completely gone thru the car in every detail. If you were doing a concors car this wouldn't qualify, for several reasons. 1) I painted the underside of the hood flat black, reason being, the twin SU's tend to have blow by over time, and i have found this is an easier way to keep the engine compartment clean, as well as being a nice contrast with the engine, and all its polished shine. 2) The L-28 engine isn't original, however i feel it's an upgrade from the L-24, for obvious reasons. I have a set of black mirrors going back on the car, but i still have the org. chrome drivers side mirror.
I also have all the org. badging, which will be the very last items installed, on the car.
I'm asking $ 25,000 for the car, a bargin considering i have roughly 2,800 hours of my love invested, to date.
Any additional details about # 1651 can be obtained by e-mail to danlinquist@gmail.com or by calling, 360-666-7222. Thanks for looking at my car. Dannys 240z.
