Post subject:  1981 280zx coupe for sale

Hi all. I just joined this group after having recently acquired a 280zx coupe from a gentlemen in westchester, ny. My girlfriend has got a job in New York in the fall, so I'm going to have to adjust to a car-less lifestyle and sell the z. It's an 81, automatic couple, a/c (still works), medium metallic blue, with 44,000 miles. Mechanically, the car is sound. Only issue when I got it was a bit of a hot start problem which I quickly diagnosed as a faulty FPR. It's been replaced and it starts like a charm, hot or cold. Interior is in fair shape (one tear each on passenger and drivers seat velour, foam is still good). As for the body, though most the paint is good, it's got some rust issues around the lower parts as you may expect (rear quarter, under the bumper, around the bottoms of the doors, rockers must have had the ziebart treatment as they are surprisingly good). I also have a brand new old stock muffler that I haven't put on yet.

It also has four brand new 215/60-14 tires on some nice wheels, and new rear rotors and pads, coolant flush, and oil. When I had that work done, the mechanic was shocked at how good the underside, frame rails, etc were for a car of this vintage. When I got the car, I was undecided if I was just going to drive it around as is for a few years, or try to do some body work to bring up to tip-top shape. This would be a fantastic car for someone looking for a low mile car to bring back to like new with some work...

Considering the low miles, sound frame/chassis, recent work/parts, $3k negotiable. Drop me a line with any questions.

I'm having trouble picking up the images from Photobucket...

If it doesn't look like parts are falling off, I know a guy who might be interested. I will continue to try to draw up the photo.

AND WELCOME ABOARD!!
Frank
