Two enterprising CTZCC members recently whiled away an afternoon climbing thru the acres of cars at CHICK'S USED AUTO PARTS ("junkyard") in Wallingford CT. We found FOUR (4) ZCars there, which we felt y'all should know about. Usable parts on each ~ I downloaded pix into my computer, and if I can ever figure out how to get them into this Forum, I'll display them:

1971 240: (HLS30-36,xxx) SUs, Manifolds, cam cover & taillights GONE. Interior 60%, with original seats. Hood, hatch and body panels usable. L24, head and 4spd look OK. Good glass. No jack.

1975 280: Interior has been extracted and rear bumper missing. Rest of car intact but very used. Body pretty good. Auto trans. Injectors and instruments OK. No jack.

1981(?) 280ZX 2+2: auto, engine mostly intact (injected), good glass. Good dash & instruments. Hatch is locked/no key available (i.e. "no jack").

1986 ZX Ttop: interior seems intact, with "junkyard patina".
Both T tops, dash & instruments intact. Engine appears complete (but who can tell?) Some body panels salvageable, but Tinworm is at work. Auto trans. No jack here, either!

We went there targeting the ZCars, but spent hours "admiring" some pretty interesting American Iron, too ~ they're worth the trip themselves!
1920s wooden Wagon Wheel cars with overhead valve engines (who knew?), 1950s Chrome Beasts, 1960s USA and European cars (MGB GT, Volvo P1800 coupe, Jaguar XJS [with SUs], Hillman Stationwagon, AutoUnion coupe, etc). There were acres of 50s and 60s Olds, Packards, Pontiacs (421 Bonnys!), Studebakers, Dodges, '55-6-7 Chevys, Checkers, Corvairs, T-Birds (may they rust in peace), Caddys, and a 1948 Buick Super original survivor that got DRIVEN into place 4yrs ago! That's not even mentioning the tons of flathead panel wagons, tow trucks and delivery vans from the 1920s and 30s! It's a toystore!

Here are some pictures of what we found:
