Great to hear from you again, Dave! It's been a while.

That's a pretty car.
Did you do anything to the cam when you mounted those Webers?

Frank to answer your question, no it has the stock cam. My view was that I didn't want to mess with the lash pads nor did I want to lose any low end on a street car...
But I guess that some people would not put a lightweight flywheel on a street car. I was going with a slightly bigger cam for the 2.8 ZX engine.
The Webers have been on the car sense the engine change. This was my sons Kindergarten teachers car, he is now 36 years old, and she bought it used in 1975 from Turtle Motors in Woodbridge.

Yes Frank it's has been a long time, you know how life can get in the way!

We're having our final event of the year just an hour East of you in Jamestown RI late this month. If your 260 is still street-legal you could bring it, show it off, and put a For Sale sign on it.

This is historically a tough time to sell a Z or a motorcycle; people know the season is over and they really don't want to store their new purchase and stare at it for 5 months before they can use it. They tend to pay more for them in the springtime when the promise of a long spring/summer/fall season looms ahead of them.

That being said, this is a coveted early 260 with Webers and the ZX driveline, so it makes a tempting offer. The nearly "square" 260 engine is the ideal high-revving platform for a set of 40mm Webs, and any cam improvement at all will make better use of the added induction. Anybody who knows Zs would want this beauty, so you might get it sold before the snow flies.

Unfortunately Frank doubt I can make it. My mother just passed, and I will be devoting any free time to cleaning up her estate matters.

I'm sorry for your loss, Dave; my condolences. No matter how old a man gets, losing his mom is about the hardest thing life holds in store for him.

A nice 4-hr picnic among Z friends might cheer you up a little, if you could find the time.

Thank you Frank!, It's been tough few years, but she had a few strokes and was unable to do much.
We will see what the next couple weeks bring.

I'm shocked this car hasn't sold yet.

Me too, Jay.
I try hard not to infect our website with political discourse, but it just MIGHT be that certain current events have people becoming very cautious with their money.

At a time when stuff they really need in their cupboard is sitting off-shore with its shelf-life expiring and prices are rising all around us, many folks are beginning to hang onto their money for life-essential needs. Fewer people in the middle class (If that even exists anymore) are willing to spend their money on fun or investments.

Hopefully that will change for the better in the coming year and be resolved completely in 2024.

Just 10 months ago this car wouldn't have lasted on the market a week.

Let's Go, Brandon.
