Hi all, I've got a 1980 280zx 2+2 with 74,603 miles on it that runs and drives fine. The body has a few small rust spots on the roof and hood where the paint is pretty well cooked, but there is not sign of rot underneath and the paint on the sides of the car is in decent shape. The black patches you see on the hood and roof are where I had sprayed some paint to slow down the small rust spots until I got around to the body work. Some of the stainless trim is off because I was getting ready to paint the car, and all the loose trim parts are in the trunk. The interior is in pretty good shape, so it wouldn't take too much cleaning up to look great.

The car was in my brother-in-law's family since new (it was his grandmother's car) and was in a garage in Seattle, WA, for most of it's life (hence the lack of rot). It's got a new set of tires, a recent battery, a new fan clutch, plus some other random new parts.

I've got too many other projects right now, so I have to find a new home for it.

I'm looking for $8500 obo for it--don't be offended by the asking price or afraid to give me an offer you think is fair.

The car is currently in western Connecticut and has an expired but legitimate CT registration (my state does not give titles for cars older than 20 years, and all you need is a bill of sale and the registration to transfer a car in CT).

Cool that your Gram drove a standard!

That Zx appears to be in pretty good shape. As the older 240s become more and more expensive (and further and further out of reach), all other Zs are becoming more valuable too.
I have often said the final remaining Z on the planet will probably be a well-kept 2+2.
I can't see from the pictures; how old are the tires and how do they look to you?
Airconditioning?

Frank, The tires only have maybe 200 miles on them, and they are about 3 years old. I just haven’t had the time to drive the car, which is why I’m selling it. Last I tried it, the air conditioner worked just fine. And, yes, grandma driving a a brand new sports car with a 5-speed in 1980 is pretty cool.
