For sale: 1992 Nissan 240sx SE Convertible. This is a limited edition convertible model produced from 1992-1994, this car is one of 669 red color cars manufactured in 1992. The car was shipped from Nissan in Japan to ASC [American Sunroof Corporation] in California who performed the conversion to the convertible, with full support of the Nissan factory.

The 240sx S13 model is very popular in the “drift” drift world of motorsports due to its very responsive steering, tight turning radius and overall exterior appearance. Many suppliers have aftermarket performance and appearance accessories available for this model, keeping replacement and upgrade parts inexpensive.

This car currently has approximately 95,000 miles on the odometer and has seen only 1 Rochester winter [2008/9 season].

In the past 24 months the following have been installed; new radiator, new antenna, new trunk lid struts, new battery, new rear window, new front suspension pieces [tension compression rods-old silicone bushings leak when they get old], new front & rear brake pads. Current NYS inspection and because it is a 1992 the inspection costs less!

Top is in excellent condition and is quick up/down in less than 10 seconds. Decent size trunk and seats 4, although the rear seats are best for children [mine, at 12 & 14 are quickly outgrowing those seats and thus we need a bigger car]. I have [see the pictures] 16” sport wheels with BFGoodrich GForce tires currently installed and have the OE factory alloy 15” wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires as well. Some extra parts are included, just ask. Included is a Nissan factory service manual convertible supplement.

Cruise control, power windows, power steering, power door locks, tilt wheel, full gauges, 2.4 liter 4 cylinder with good power, no smoke and I average [driving conservatively] 26 mpg to and from work-city driving!
A fun car that is fun to drive-especially when you can go topless!

Priced at $3,100 or best offer, please call to schedule time to view our car.

If it goes up for parts I could use the head, tranni, and the diffy. For my truck of coarse. O, and the throttle body as well for the Z. :D

I love those SX's and the later coupes also... I saw a similar convertible today in white in a parking deck in Poughkeepsie, although the belt moulding said "special edition" on it..... This one looks really nice in red. Not that I have a preference for red...

Oh yeah! Loved those things. I had a 1995 SE Coupe. Emerald green. Very underpowered...but incredible handling! Kids would not get in the back seat. So I sold it and bought a mint condition 1989 Z Coupe with no back seat. That will show them! Somebody will really enjoy this red car.

Yeah, that's really weird ~ their standard 4cyl twin-cam engine was rated at 150bhp, the same as the original 240Z L24-six cylinder. Yet, everyone who drove the 240SX called it underpowered. Maybe it was a lot heavier than the Z?

Hey Frank! The season just ended and i miss you knuckleheads already! Maybe we could get together in the old garage at Miller and discuss the finer points of the new 370'S over a cup o' joe! Anyway. (We got about a dozen of those puppies in all shapes and sizes including NIZMO'S and the new drop-dead gorgeous roadsters. Just in time for winter!!) Anyway...the difference in the two motors you mentioned is in the origin. The 240 had the venerable 2.4L 16 VALVE 4 cylinder.(a TRUCK engine, essentially.) Plenty power...good torque...not very smooth...even in 240sx tune. But what that car lacked in "cajones", it more than made up for in handling! One of the most neutral, easily driftable cars i ever owned. And truly a beautiful design! (Especially 95 to 97 model. RDM

I'd love to pick it up, but a third car is not what I need right now.

Roger that, but it sure got me to thinkin'! Let's see, what could I do to
raise the money? Sell one of the Z's? Forget it! The house? Naw,
winter's settin' in. The Pathfinder? What would I pull the trailer with?
I know, hey Frank, wanna buy my other snowblower for $3100?

As soon as I did that, it would never snow again.

Rick if you're serious about selling an extra snowblower (not for $3,100) I may be interested.

I've already got a 240sx (my third) and I'm more than happy with it. Besides, I don't think I'd want to go through the hassle of doing a manual transmission swap.
