Post subject:  Remove 300zx battery

I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the plastic shroud partially covering the battery.
Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Actually, if it looks like this, there should be two clips at the bottom edge of the box cover.

Hey, I was raised by wolves and taught to get stuff done however necessary.

That's not the configuration but at any rate, I managed to get it out. So I put the brand new battery in and still no start. Grr.
Looks like I'm heading towards a AAA tow to RDZ Motorsports in New Milford for a diagnosis and repair.

On many Japanese cars (maybe on others, too), if you interrupt the power supply you must reprogram the computer to make it run again. It's an anti-theft measure. Most cars let you reprogram the system using a type-in code in the radio. Any Nissan dealership should be able to help you get the right numbers for your car by VIN. Sometimes your service manual will include a plastic 'credit card' with a 5-6-or-7 digit power reset number on it.
I'm sure each manufacturer uses a different approach, but my kid's Honda is that way and I read about Toyotas doing the same thing.
