1983 280zx replaced rear shocks with kyb's. Also all rear bushings. Now bad positive camber!! Why. Anyone have same problem. Solution? Here is a pix of old and new shocks. Could it be the issue? Is it the urethane control arm bushings causing issue?

In a direct A to your Q, no; I have not replaced my shocks with KYBs.

BUT, if you're interested in an hypothesis, I would bet you haven't driven or 'loaded' the car since you changed them. I suspect your camber problem is not with the springs, but with the gas-filled shocks which are sold over-charged and release pressure to be self-leveling as you drive.

You could drive the car around a few miles then look for a change. If you can't drive it yet, you might leave all your kids in the cargo deck overnight to weigh the shocks down so they self-level. If you can't borrow enough kids to do that, you could use all your heavy shop manuals or bags of money to gain the same effect. A couple hundred pounds of $20 bills should do the trick.

Let us know.

Well here is one idea, that is not very well know, the 280zx came with 3 different springs depending on which model it was. Grand Luxury, Grand Touring, and Grand sport. There are 2 paint dots on the original spring that tells you which is which. Today they probably have just one spring for all. The shock is not the issue. So you need to add some shims at the Diff and correct the camber. Or the plates to adjust on the top of the shock towers. (modification) As long as everything else is good and tight underneath.

Listen to Paul; he's done all that stuff on the 300 cars. My ideas on those cars are simply hypothetical.
