1979 280ZX 210,000 miles. Had the engine rebuilt due to a warped head. Now runs like a clock. But the idle speed starts at 800 RPM at a cold start and rises to 1700 RPM as the engine warms up. I have a throttle body located on line but does anyone have any suggestion on how to get the idle speed to a proper level.

There's an idle screw right behind the throttle body. As long as you have no vacuum leaks. They are known for leaking intake gaskets, so spray some brake clean(the hi flammable one, green can) at the gasket while running....if idle increases you have a leak.
