I am the new owner of " Pearl Yellow 91 TT 300zx. Both front speakers are not working, likely the result of the Bose speaker amps being blown. Does anyone in the collective know a good car stereo shop that is comfortable with the Bose system? Replacing the stock Bose system, as crappy as it is, is a nonstarter as I want to keep the car stock.

Hi doc ~ if you lived in my family, your speaker problems would be the result of female family members SLAMMING the car doors as hard as they could until you refuse to drive them anywhere.

Is there a mileage radius within which you prefer to stay? (i knew a great shop in NC.... 8) )

I don't have his contact information but our club member Mike Winters is an expert in sound systems. Frank, or anyone in the club that can pass on this information? :?: I believe he lives in the Brookfield CT area.

Yup, good idea, John. Mike's screen name on our Private Message board is " thesoundguy ". However, I sent him a PM in August and he still hasn't opened it. That's the only way I know to reach him, unless you looked him up in the white pages (but then you couldn't print his personal info here in the website).

Tristate area would be great.

There are three places in the US (likely more) that will fix the capacitors in the amps (they are the weak link). To get to the speakers requires pulling the entire door panel. This appears very doable, but the devil is always in the details, and I am sure getting it all back together without squeaks is going to be challenging!
