:| Not exactly Z related but I'm hoping someone can give me a tip as I'm stuck.

I'm replacing a bearing on my Corolla 5-speed with the engine on the car...through the side cover. Looks easy from the photo, using a special "transmission bearing puller" to grab around the OD of the bearing to pull. But while one bearing came right out, the smaller of the two wont budge, even a MM. I've used a torch and even broken a large puller, I'm throwing in the towel on this repair.

Anyone know someone who does transmission work who might be willing to do a paid house call on the side...to simply pull this bearing out for me?

I know you're trying to remove it with the case on, but here's a "time laps" video  of someone struggling to remove one with the case off ~ you can see at 0:59 he fails until he sort of twists it counter-clockwise and "unscrews" it.

Nooo...I don't know anybody who works on Toyotas.... 8)....but if I did, they would probably remind me that Toyota likes to hold some of their gearbox bearings on with snap rings, and those could be either side of the bearing or all around the outside of it.

But this doesn't look encouraging:

Did you try placing drift punch into that slot and tapping it counterclockwise? It might look like an outer race, but actually be a threaded hold-down cap.
