I've used Pertronix for more than 4yrs now. Not a problem with it.
I do carry a spare tho, because they quit without any warning when they wear out.
Not like a breaker point ignition, which gradually runs badly until it quits. The electronic ignitions just go out suddenly, like a blown fuse.

Ive heard a lot of good things about pertronix, im just hoping mine ships and gets here on friday. Is there anywhere locally that might stock the 1761 needed for 240Z's?

After talking to the Pertronix tech rep, I went with the 91761 which has a mircroprocessor that adjusts ignition according to RPM along with the Flamethrower 2 coil.
It's a bit more but he says it does a better job thruout the rev range because it changes dwell.
Then again he may have been trying to sell product.

Looks like the 91761 is red instead of black witch should be good for a couple more HP :lol: . If I had been saving up for an upgrade I probably wouldve done some more research and gone with the 91761 for the hotter coil

I didn't really do anything to it. In fact it's just a stock exhaust/engine combo. Could the new ignition stuff make a difference in the sound?
If was great seeing you and all the guys and of course your show winner too.
