Hey Guys i just purchased my first 280zx. Its an 1982 an when the key is turned on, i hear a fan motor in the dashboard that sounds like its running. When i switch the blower speed it doesnt do anything unitl i go to the defrost setting which then you hear the fan speed up. Im not too sure if its the fan that i am hearing since it sounds like a static sound. Anyone have any ideas?

Fuel injection pump? I'm guessing ~ I'm not much of a 280 guy.
Also check to make sure the radio is off.
