I bet the rack was moving around a little, mine was and not even that bad. New ones on the way.

I like the two piece design.
Most one piece units have a gap and don't sit right.

Back in the 1970s, before all the aftermarket stuff became available, guys used to bolster the steering rack and front anti-swaybar bushings with strips of old carpet. it actually worked.
