Well I thought I'd just get the new water pump and radiator in but my car had other issues I needed to attend to.
While the rad was out I discovered the right side of the support had a good size dent and rusty weld area. So I straightened it as much as I could and addressed the corossion. I then found my inboard left side frame just above the sway bar mount was holier than the Pope. It's a section about 4x3".
I ground it down to bare metal and plan on cutting the rotted part out and welding a sheet metal patch over it.
Has anyone done this job?

It's not pretty but it works.
Now just clean up and paint.
