Well I got a shiny new 3 row aluminum radiator and during the install I found that I have a bad WP bearing.
I ordered one through NAPA and it's only $22.
One question I have is should I keep the metal fan or put in a later version lighter plastic?
I have both.
I'ts one thing after another but this car is gonna rock this summer!

The new radiator already confirms you're not focusing on keeping it original. The metal fans place a pretty good load on water pumps so a plastic one will get the job done and pretty well take care of future pump problems. Been there, done that.

My car says "hello" to its slightly older brother! :D

Well I want it to be functional and not leave me stranded.
I'll keep the original fan and radiator as I will for any part that I replace for better performance.
I assume the plastic one will move more air and like you said put less stress on the bearing.
Of course the 3 row is overkill but it was only $40 more than the 2 row.
Mine say's hello as well.

I have a metal Fan I'm going to hang in my garage....it is cool to have, but exactly, it will put a load on the water pump. If you want the original look, at least you'll have it.

The metal fan feels about two pounds heavier.
Any inertial mass you can get rid of helps.
