My white 74 260Z came with a set of Minilite rims on it.
In fair condition, look to have original finish still.
Click link for images.

The marking on the face of the rim are
"14x6 1/2 x 13" - size and offset
"Made in England" obvious enough
"E 73 SM" - a date code ??
More marking on back but hard to read.

Are they made of Magnesium ?

Any info would be appreciated.

Pat

True magnesium Minilites were usually clearly marked "FOR RACING ONLY" on them. They were super light, quite expensive and rare. I doubt that yours are magnesium, rather the much more common aluminum commercial type.

True magnesium wheels are very dangerous for the street, especially old ones. They tend to crack and if they were to catch fire in an accident, burn easily at thousands of degrees.

Also you might want to note that the LUG NUTS for Minilites for Z-Cars are very rare and hard to find. They are specific to those wheels.

Thanks John for the info. Thought they felt kind of heavy for magnesium.

I do have the lug nuts, center caps are either damaged or missing.

Trying to decide if I should sell them, or buy new tires for them and put them back on my 74 260Z.
