I had a dead battery due to starter issue. I have replaced the starter but battery died again I think because factory alarm didn't get reset. Before I put the second new battery in, how do I get factory alarm to reset so battery won't die again? Is it just a matter of removing the fuse, installing battery, and reinserting the fuse? Thanks in advance for time & effort in answering...

Usually turning the driver door key to the left resets the factory alarm. I'd suspect you have another power drain from somewhere else however....

Most cars, turn the key back and forth a few times just to make sure, on drivers door, make sure everything is shut. I also think something else might be draining your battery. Shut everything off, shut all doors, disconnect hood light if so. Disconnect negative battery cable, and take a KNOW WORKING test light, and clip onto batter cable and other end to battery. Use something to hold it in place if need be. If it lights up, you have a DRAIN on your battery. Pull one fuse at a time until light goes out, there is you drain, well at least the circuit. Now if it doesn't go out......I wont let you live my nightmare, but 2 times I was baffled for days.....one was a burnt out bulb, and the one that a lot of people over look is the diode pack in the alternator. Basically a new alternator.
