You just have to have the right headers, fair warning. I say it's better because it maintains a flatter profile that stays above the crossmember, something the Arizona pan extends beyond. However its shape makes an engine just slightly trickier to drop into the bay...

Phrog, do you think the Ebay one is worth $181 more ? (I'm serious) The Arizona pan looks to be better made. I had one that looked like the Arizona pan but it was built for the Datsun competition dept.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I personally like it more because it's sheet metal over cast which is more likely to dent than crack, and the other reasons I mentioned. The Arizona pan looks "better made" because its cast nature looks cleaner, but I wouldn't say it's empirically better.

That guy on ebay is also doing the "make an offer" option so he may take less for it if you leverage him with the cost of the Arizona pan. I personally got mine for less years ago, but it didn't come with the pickup or the windage tray. As far as capacity goes, the Arizona pan holds what, an extra quart? So that's 6 quarts or so vs. the 12 quarts that this guy is claiming (I think he's being a bit optimistic, pretty sure its more like 9-10qt). More oil in the system means it's less likely to slosh away and suck up air.

I suppose which one is better/worth more boils down to opinion and what you're using it for.

A bunch of metal bits that spin around along with the usual few odd pockets of air.









The head is essentially a stock P90, the block an F54 bored .50 over. Pistons are Swaincoated ITM dished, which I'm kicking myself for since I should have put in flat tops for the extra compression. Oh well, next time.

I think if I was racing, and was concerned about oil sloshing, I would just skip the chase and go dry sump.
