In Shelton, Andersons garage is both good and fairly priced. But I'd suggest you take a drive to Vinny Bedinnis in Brookfield. See the clubs home page. Sounds like your clutch disc is stuck to your flywheel, or you have a linkage/hydraulic leak problem.

Thanks, Hadn't thought of the clutch to flywheel angle.
Suspected it might be either the master or slave cylinder but they usually wear a bit at a time rather than all at once. I'll check that out. I'd rather drive it to the mechanic than have it flat bedded.

Q: was your year ZX the one with the anti-theft system attached to the clutch pedal?

I don't know what years they used that, but if the system was turned on (or broken) you couldn't make the clutch pedal move with a crane.

Never understood how that worked, but it probably prevented a lot of Z thefts.

(Paul, our Club ZX Partz Car was one of those years, remember it? What did you do to free the clutch?)

Well this is a Z32 in 1990. Key words, "rarely used" Change the clutch fluid and it will probably be ok. Also check the slave cylinder to make sure it is not leaking. Fluid level should be at top mark. Low mark is for, "hey I got a leak" For right now, if clutch pedal doesn't come up, just pull it up and pump it by hand and see if the pedal returns. It may, but still get things checked out. I'm out here in RI, so not sure if a mechanic that far will do for you, but I am here.

I had something similar happen to me. I changed the fluid, master, and slave cylinder and it was fine.

Right ~ what color is your clutch fluid? Should look like weak tea, not like strong coffee.

So whatever became of this? Have you changed the clutch fluid yet? (Did it need changing?)
