Hi Rob,

Thanks for responding ! I forgot who I sold them to.

I just did some price checking and came up with a $25 difference in getting the Silver Mine big brake kit vrs. doing it piece meal through Rock auto. It would probably come out the same w/the increased shipping cost through Rock Auto.

Did I make a mistake ?

I can't give much advice on the rear disc conversion as mine is one of Ross C's products from Modern Motorsports (RIP). It's essentially 240sx calipers on early 300zx rear rotors via a custom cast bracket. Install was mostly straightforward except for the stainless lines supplied which were awkwardly long and seemed to rub on everything no matter the position, not to mention one side had an odd body-side fitting that was superfluous/didn't seem to belong. Removing the drums was only a pain because of the rust.

I think the other kits I've seen use 280zx or Ford calipers, so there are some technical differences. Regardless of which kit, I'm sure each one has similar nuances to get around in order to get a clean install. Love mine though.

Are those S12W cores ? If they arei would definitely be interested.

I just did some price checking and came up with a $25 difference between buying the Silver Mine kit vrs. buying it piecemeal . Probably the same considering the aditional shipping expense from Rock Auto.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just have the aluminum drums bead blasted.

Rob,

Which calipers did you get from me ? The SWs or SW12s ?

It was the s12w calipers. I don't have the cores though. I forgot that I traded those in at Autozone. The rear maxima calipers are the ones I still have. I bought new maxima calipers from Rockauto and never sent in the cores.
