Is there a tool that fits to push the piston or do you need to remove the brake line to use a C clamp.

I'm sure there is a Datsun Special Tool, but I've never seen one. We poor boys have always just used a flat board (like a ruler) and a C-Clamp. Sometimes you can even press it back in with your fingers by squeezing the board. The flat board spreads the pressure over the face of the piston ('puck') instead of focusing it on one spot. Be careful not to use the C-Clamp directly on the piston face, since you can cause scars and burrs that way, push it in at an angle, or even crack the piston. Slow and easy pressure resets the piston ~ don't try to crank it down too quickly. I use a 4" C-Clamp. Open the reservoir and expect the fluid level to rise. I wrap a shop towel around the reservoir to catch any fluid which might spill out. Brake fluid is unfriendly to paint.

No need to remove the brake line.

Oh, wait ~ I see you're talking about the 300ZX? I thought you meant your '71 240.

Never mind!

As Frank said you can use a ruler or piece of scrap wood with a C-clamp. I like to use the old pad, saves time and will stay put considering they are pinned in place.

If your just pad slappin and want to push the pistons in you could use a small pry bar if this fits. Or you just might have to take one caliper bolt out and swing it down.
