Well I'm at the stage in the completion of my '72 Z restoration regarding selection of wheels & tires. Before this project began had 14" Momo wheels (which I'd likely sell...they have been refinished) w/ 195/70x14 tires. Considering moving up to 15" Panasports. Haven't been able to find much info on Panasport website about available widths in 15" & offset so coming to the "authorities". Z is not lowered & will strictly be used on the street...no racing or autocrossing. From what I've thus far been able to determine 16" wheels may require fender lip rolling, etc., don't wish to go there. Also feel 15" would convey the more classic look/stance. In terms of tire size initially thinking 205/60x15. If you have thoughts on tire brands, models & sizes feel free to offer those up as well.
Would appreciate any words of wisdom, BTDTs, etc. In advance thanks for your time in responding.

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Is your Z car lowered or is it at stock ride height? I am not an expert on early Z's but I recall 16x8+0 offset fitting with no problems on a '76 280Z at stock ride height.

15x7 Panasports, zero offset, w 205/60/15 will work just dandy on a street s30. 205/60/15 on Panasport 15x7's can be seen here:

BTW - those are my old wheels now being run on my Dad's Z, w/ no rubbing:

Current wheels on mine are 16x8 XXR 513, zero offset, 205/50/16, lowered on tokicos...no rubbing.

Also just FYI - plenty more reading on the subject over at classiczcars.com and hybridz.org

Hope that helps...

Cheers,
Colin

Thanks for the replies.

Justin, my Z is stock suspension (although has Bilstein strut inserts and BRE upgrade F & R sway bars. Collin, very nice looking Zs.

Anyone else feel free to chime in regarding your setup/experiences on this subject.

Thanks again,
Chris

Hi Chris,

FYI I'm puting 15 x 7 Panasports w/Sumitomo 205/60 x 15 tires on my '71 240 z w/stock suspension. The Sumitomos are good, "H" speed rated, CHEAP, and quiet riding. I'm 75 and have been a gearhead since I was 12.

Regards,
Irv
