Yeahhh...ya know, the more I read that ad, the more suspicious I get of the 'seller'. He sounds like someone who has been asked to watch over a body shop while the owner takes vacation or something, and is trying to make some cash on the side while his boss is gone.

I don't like how his 10th grade education won't let him spell anything correctly (even MECHANIC) and he never mentions that he's licensed or bonded or insured or even allowed to do this.

AND he wants all YOUR information up front, before he'll even tell you where he is or how close to an auto parts store his lift is. And getting thrown out for violating "HIS" rules, just as you get the gearbox out of the car, is an excellent excuse for extorting more money from you.

Well, it sounds like a good idea on the face of it (and THANK YOU, Kevin) but I am already suspicious of anyone who wants full info about you before he will take your money, and won't tell you who or where he is. I can tell he hasn't provided this service to the public for very long.

Absolutely. I agree. Who knows, you might be able to see enough without having to go inside. Let us know how it goes it you try it!

Nah, the guy's shady for sure.
He emailed me his phone number, I called, he didn't pick up.
So he responded via email, and instead of answering all my questions, he said you're far from me, you should look for someone locally.

And Frank's right, the guy typed like he had a 3rd grade education.

Thanks Craigslist! LOL

The hunt for a lift continues.

Is there a military base near you Matt, where we could use their Special Services Hobby Shop lift?

Oh hmm wonder why it's not showing.

It's a joke pic... rusted dead car with the text "Craigslist sellers be like: minimal rust!"

Sadly only about half the stuff on craigslist is true...

Guess I'm "SOL" and will have to pay a shop to do this, and hopefully do it right.

Wish I had my own space and crazy amount of tools! I'd rather learn how to do this, that way I could do someone's clutch for them in the future.

PM me when you have a chance. I might know someone who could pull a favor for you. Just don't want to put his info out there.

We're still searching for a lift for a day or two. Any help from anybody is greatly appreciated.

Frank

We're attempting urgently to search out an area to vary the clutch on this Z automotive while not breaking anybody's bank. It cannot be worked on wherever it lives, and that we most likely solely want on a daily basis underneath the automotive if all goes well.
