Hey guys, I'm thinking about replacing the Idler pulley bearing on my 84 turbo. Rock auto has two sizes available..which do I get?

Which one was made later? One was an improvement over the original, I would think.......?

Did you click on the PT # to see the application? Turbo? N/A? or year change? Could always measure yours to see what size you have.

Both are for turbos, 84. Or that's what they're listed under at least..

I might have to measure it...going to try to without taking it out.

Take it out of the car and clean it up. Usually there is a number on it somewhere - 6204 or something like that. You can buy them locally if you go by that number at places like Napa, Levine or CarQuest.

Wish I had seen this earlier...I took a measurement of it last night and I think I got the right one...if not, I'll definitely look for that part number!

Thanks!

I checked my notes - on my 82 280zx, the old bearing said "6203" and I replaced it with a carquest "203-FF" bearing.

For one, are you talking about the timing belt, because there is only the tensioner pulley? Or are you talking about one of the drive belt pulleys?

I think this is the one that is on the serpentine belt (the one for the air conditioning and it goes to the "idler"), so no, not the timing belt.

Ahh, got it. I call those adjusting Pulleys for the belt.

Fillipe,
Just saw this post. I tried the same thing you are attempting to do and ended up ordering both Beck-Arnley bearings from Rockauto as I was unsure of which size to get. Sad to say but neither one fit any of my tensioner pulleys. Maybe your luck will be better...

Yeah Greg, I ordered a Beck Arnley as well, didn't fit either. Oh well.
