 Post subject: HICAS fluid, WHAT TYPE?

Posting this for a friend with a 1990 Z32 Twin Turbo....

What type of fluid does the early HICAS system use, ATF or brake fluid? He spring a leak and needs to replenish the fluid.

I believe the manual calls for DEXRON ATF, but I would think brake fluid. Any experience and answers?

Hi Frank and John,
In response to John's post, He is correct for the fluid on the Hicas it is the Dextron ATF the same that goes in the power steering pump,
There's actually 2 pumps one for the power steering and one for the Hicas that feed of the same reservoir.
