I ended up ditching the wire to the ac and not running a manual switch. i It's always the simple things that get you so I checked every wire and connection to make sure they were in the right place. Hooked up each fan directly to the battery and they both work. I had the car warmed up and was waiting for the fans to kick on but they never did...temp went way above normal operating temp and even adjusted the temp control to 90 degrees but nothing.

Also tried moving the grounds to a different location and even directly to the battery. I'll try a new ignition wire today instead of coming from the same wire for the head unit as suggested in a write up. Might as well throw a toggle switch in there too to try.

Don't worry I wont drive it into the river, it's just frustrating.

Sorted!! :D I used a different wiring setup and boom fans come on when they should! Now I just have to get a new alternator and I'm ready to roll.

There was no power from the ignition wire off the head unit to the temp switch but the head unit still worked :? Switched to an ignition source under the hood, had power but still no fans. Switched to the wiring in the pic below and success!

Don't blame ya Justin, it's a bunch of work just for fans. Still have to deal with all the broken bolts, wait for new drain plug to come in, put bumper back on and clean up wires/mount relays...bleh.

I was looking on Z31P and thought about the 350Z or Titan but it seems the Maxima is pretty much bolt on no hassle.

Did you have to remove your front fascia to install 'em?

["There was no power from the ignition wire off the head unit to the temp switch but the head unit still worked"]

So, the power was going to the head temperature sensor unit, then grounding from there? It wouldn't go any further, correct? I don't actually see one of those in your previous diagram....

Yeah pretty much every bolt broke too. I also took the radiator out as well, you could probably leave it in if you trim the fan shroud enough.

There was power going to the radio with ignition on but not from the wire I spliced in going to the temp controller. I just used a test light to check everything.
The first diagram was to get an idea but in the second one its the ignition switch coming off the temp controller.
