Yes I searched, and searched and searched again.... There are lots of conflicting replies.

I am trying to mount my R200 (3.9) from a 280zx into my 73 240z. I have the diff, mustache bar, hanger, and front mount. My issue is with the half shafts. What do I need to make it work and not really break the bank? Should I just find a set of half shafts from a 280z that had an R200?

R180 halfshafts...in a R200...in a 240Z... are too long and will bottom out when you hit a bump. I know some people claim to have made it work, but the best rule in a R200 swap is to use all the R200 parts possible.

If you don't want to break the bank then find some R200 halfshafts..make sure you get the inner stub flanges. The other option is to get a set of Wolf Creek racing CV shafts. An investment but well worth it as replacement parts will be available for years. I have them on mine and the balance and extra response to the rear wheels is noticeable.
