Hi folks,

I know of a Z31 for sale in south eastern CT. The owner is not willing to let me get it reviewed by a professional mechanic. She wants it to stay on her driveway with exception to the test drive.

Do any of you know someone that I could have come with me to check this Z out? Its an '86 . I just want to make sure its a sound purchase. I plan on going April 14th.

Why would you consider laying cash down for a car when the owner flatly refuses a mechanic inspection?

Because it is in pristine condition, never been in an accident, one family vehicle, garaged for 22 years, never seen winter, and has a clean CARFAX. Good enough of an answer?

Good enough if that's how you want to spend your money. Just saying that I would be very concerned if a seller refused to have a potential buyer's mechanic check out their car. That's a big red flag if I ever saw one.

Things haven't quite worked out with Greg. If there is anyone out there, I am in need of some help. I'll throw in some cash too if that helps, comparable to what I would be paying at a mechanics.

I expect to have some time this weekend, depending on where the car is. I won't charge you anything, because I'm not a Z31 mechanic. I'd look it over for you and take a few pics (if I can find my camera's battery charger by then) (I live with women who "clean up" around here, but never remember where they put things :roll:)

PM me with some details, and a phone number I can reach you at. Also the number of the seller so I don't arrive unannounced and get myself shot. People tell me I'm scary. :lol:
