hey guys sorry it has been awhile. i have been very busy getting the condo in order and others things to get ready for the baby. i really need a functioning car and today with the nice weather finally got around to getting some fix a flat in my flat tire and drove the 280 around. i still can't determine if the mount is the issue and honestly don't know where to look to tell if it is bad. i could really use someone to check it out quick for me and determine the noise. i can take you for a ride so you can hear the noise and get an idea what i am talking about. i would greatly appreciate the help. i love my 280 and really want to be able to drive her properly again. so if you are at all available today or tomorrow and live in my area or close and can help me out let me know. the Z is driveable to an extent. miss ya guys and hope to be able to have the 280 fixed before the April meeting.

success! upon driving it today the problem continued to get worse until the noise would never go away. even when pushing the clutch in the sound was still there. the E brake went on the right rear side. i parked it and pulled the ebrake it felt binded. and i finally pulled it up and my car rolled backwards. with my car it is never what it seems. i will pull the wheel off tomorrow and take a peek. i'm so relieved. should hopefully be an easy fix.

and would like to add she still is getting attention. i went to get gas nursin her back to health and while pumping the gas i hear an older woman's voice....."i had 72 240Z.." i turned around and she said my car brought back memories of those days. she mentioned she had a lot of problems with it but loved the car regardless. first time driving the Z in awhile since sitting and already more friendly comments. i love it! keeps me motivated. :D love this club!

well on second thought it is the mount. i got a jack and was able to push the driveshaft up and down no problem and could see the mount was the issue. i hope so anyways. next step is to try to remove this on my own. i'll put it up on ramps and jack up the rear end and try to get the bolts out. wish me luck. if anyone wants to stop by give me a holler.

E brake linkage and handle removed and new mount installed. Dangerous Z lives again. This car continues to teach me new things.

Nothing bonds you with your Z like problems! I regret I was unavailable to help with this ~ it sounded like fun!

Problem solved?

Problem solved but now need new emergency brake linkage. The driveshaft was slamming into it. Besides getting gas in my eye the job went well.

I had a hunch there was something to do with the driveshaft....

Yep Rick caused by a bad front rear end mount.
