So I finally found a winter vehicle in Stratford, but I noticed some moisture around the front differential and the head gasket area and would like to get it checked out before I take a $2700 dive. Anyone know of a reputable mechanic in the Stratford area I can have look over the car? Or is anyone here familiar with '92-'96 Jeep Cherokees that would be willing to accompany me?

Thanks,
Chris

There is a good word that rymes with Jeep. :P The engines usally go forever, (straight 6) if it has slight oil leaks, just top off the fluids once in awile. they tend to have moisture build up in the engine, don't worry about that white gink on the oil cap. They have a poor PCV system. The most common problems I see is IAC motor, the front U-joints, and cleaning out the PCV system. Of course I wouldn't pay that much for one. Just an opinion.

Sounds like a good deal. the V8's seem to go well. Also, the other issue is the brake rotors like to warp. All minor things in my book. $1,500 is more like it. :D

Paul, thank you very much for your input. I thought the price is a little high as well, but there are a few extras on it and aside from the passenger floor pan and rockers it is in really good shape. The suspension lift is really the only reason I'm willing to pay that much.

Mike, I appreciate the offer, if only Grand Cherokees were made in 5-speeds
