Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo.................

......The Z cranks now. Reliably. The ignition relay was toast, so my friend Mike made a new relay setup using 2 Bosch 5 prong Single Pole Dual Throw relays and a plug I got off ebay. It won't start however, as the ECU is not grounding the injectors, and is therefore toast.

Now just to get my hands on a A11-601-000 ECU.....Anyone?

Sorry for the random thread, but I am beyond excited that the ECU is the final piece to the puzzle, I want to drive this car (rust and all) sooooo bad!

I appreciate the offer, but the car has to be out of its spot by Sept at the latest :(

I have the ECU out of a 77 ZAP. It's ready to fire up. I just need to make sure I can part with it. If you want it, let me know, make an offer, and I'll make sure I can let it go. I might also still have my ECU from the '76, which is definitely available...if it's still in my cabinet.

From what I've been told, it has to be the same exact number that I posted above. If it is the same, I would love to snag it off you.

I'm not sure what to offer though.

I think it has to be from the same vintage/model but certainly matching numbers would be the ultimate assurance. Offer? I am not sure what they go for, but I don't think it's very much. Let me check numbers and availability and I'll get back to you.

I have two available, part numbers A11-600-000 and K11-600-000. Both are Nissan parts, marked for L28 engines.

Are you sure on your part number?

Cygnus, much appreciated.

ZCARNUT, this is a pic of the ECU in the car right now. Yes I'm that lazy that I haven't removed it yet lol

My friend, who has been helping with the diagnosis and is pretty much an electrical/wiring genius, did some reading up on my car over the past couple nights, and from what he found/parlayed to me, the 78s are wired slightly different from the earlier years of the 280z, and that the exact matching ECU MUST be used.

Yeah they did change slightly from 77 to 78. I looked at one right next to mine and noticed many subtle differences.

Nope, I don't have an ECU from a 78 sorry. I have a 76 and a 77 model.

I've got to check the parts microfiche to see what ECU is specific to the '78s.

I wonder if the earlier ones will work on the '78 models? I bet they do.

opened it in safari and it loaded.

"I dont think the 78 ecu will fit anything but the 78. I looked at the wireing diagrams. 1975-77 were the same, 78 was not. You deffinetly need those pins. Ive got a good 78 ecu in my 78 and it wont work."
