So the "N" in NGK means Denso, ummmmm. You can get ND's, and matter of fact it is on the label of some cars as a choice. It's always NGK or ND. To make thinks simple, NGK's go in every vehicle I work on, and yes, even a Chevy will get them, if available. I forget what I have in my 240 now, but having a 280zx ignition system, I believe I put in what a 280zx suggest. Is spring here yet? |

It's gota be spring now.....the clocks are ahead.....I cooked steaks on the grill last night, on the deck with a beer in my hand...........................looking at the snow mound about 3 feet taller than my wife's car.

Rock Auto has the Nippon Denso's, and I got 6 plugs for under $10. These are the regular copper plugs. stock # 3066. the 280zx would be #3067 0r #3212. They do make Platinum #4502, and Iridium #5306 as well. Those are just long life plugs, I DO NOT drive my Z that much, so no sense in buying those. Copper did good back in 1972, and it does good now. I did say NGK all the way, but when ND's are available, I'll take those over NGK. No difference in Performance, just my preference. |

Well - I'm interested in spark plugs at the moment myself. I'm trying to chase down a stumble/hesitation issue above 5K. Starting with new plugs. Am I safe gapping NGK BP5ES's at 0.040"? L24 w/ SU's running a Pertronix ignition and flamethrower coil. Thanks! |

Just to follow up on this - popped in 6 new bp5es plugs, gapped at 0.040" and I'm back in business smooth up to 6.5K (and prob higher). |

Do you have the ZX alternator upgrade? You get a smoother idle, and higher revs. Also, the ZX distributor seems to do better. At least in my case, Just a thought. My engine is smooth past red line now. |
