i hear a howling noise in the cold air intake. if i put my ear up to the filter i can hear a howling. is that the turbo? i plan to replace the turbo anyways but just making sure that is what i am hearing.

Using a long rod / screwdriver as a stethoscope, work yr way upstream from the air intake until you locate the source.

Beware moving parts or beehives.

the good news is a guy is selling cheap parts on craigslist. i will be scoring a front bumper cover, turbo w/ manifolds for 70 bucks.

FYI. I can't say that I've ever heard my turbo howl through the intake while idling. You can hear it ingest air at speed with a K&N filter. My turbo does howl under boost though :cry: Almost time for an upgrade!

maybe that is what i am hearing Phil. ingesting air. the noise clears up when i accelerate. yeah i remember you telling me this last year at the show about your turbo.
