I need to replace the ball joints in my 1982 280zx. While I'm in there, what else should I do?

Repack the wheel bearings, or replace?
Shocks/struts and lowering springs?
Poly bushings? (I already have poly sway bar mount / end links and new rubber TC rod bushings)

???

Thanks for the tips! Primary use for the car ranges from gentle cruises to autocross.

I would replace the wheel bearings rather then just repacking them Mike. As for struts and springs, I installed Eibach progressive rate springs which lowered the car about an inch and Tokico HP struts. I wish they still made the rear adjustable illumina's for the 280zx's. All they make are the fronts now. Maybe a mixture of illuminas in front and Hp's in the rear?

The ride is a little stiffer but it totally eliminated the rear end sqwat on take off!

Phil, thanks! I have to see if anyone still sells the Eibach springs. I couldn't find them at MSA.

Do I need to do anything to the alignment after these changes, because of either working on the car or because of the lowering? I know we can only adjust the front toe on these cars.... right?

I had an alignment done after I installed the springs and struts. Not sure if I needed to, but it had not been aligned since I bought it.

The Eibach springs are NLA too??!!

I bought the complete set of bushings, including the sub frame, but have not put those in yet. Only the sway and torsion bar bushings so far.
